An essay in honor of John Calmore African American law professor at the University of North Carolina which celebrates his wish for a "big tent" that includes people of all races Addresses four problems confronting Latinos regarding housing or land that have yet to receive appropriate attention from the legal community and considers a framework for approaching substandard housing state and local antiimmigrant statutes and ordinances reparations for Southwestern lands taken after the War with Mexico and the status of the US colony Puerto Rico
