Abstract
The rules about burdens of proof provide the logical and legal framework within which judicial fact finders answer often difficult questions affecting life liberty and property The are important to fact finders such as a judge or jury but become additionally important when the fact finder is a jury guaranteed by both federal and state constitutions for they also then become the practical guarantors of consitutional right
